Secondary Target

About the Book:

A ruthless murderer. A deadly secret. An unbreakable love.

After the brutal murder of her mother and brother twelve years ago, Corina Roberts built a new life in Kentucky. But when strange things begin to happen, she is thrust into a perilous game of life and death. With nowhere else to turn, her best hope of survival depends on her ex-boyfriend, army veteran Bryce Jessup.

Recently returned from service, Bryce has every intention of staying away from Corina, but when threats close in around her, he isn't willing to leave her safety to chance. As their search for answers uncovers lethal secrets her detective father kept hidden, Bryce and Corina must untangle the mystery of the merciless killer intent on terrorizing and eliminating Corina's family before it's too late.

My Review:

“Vengeance, as well as justice, demanded that debts always be repaid.”

It’s hard to believe this is the debut novel of author, Angela Carlisle. It is an edge of your seat, action-packed, cat-and-mouse suspense that also has a second chance at love. You are sure to become involved in this story and be looking out for Corina Roberts as there are several points of view, one being the murderer.

The slow reveal of what actually happened to Corina’s family and the clues she finds hidden in crime scene photos keep you guessing and added intrigue as to their significance in the case. I enjoyed seeing the broken relationship between Corina and Bryce repaired and loved that they were going to get their HEA.  I am looking forward to reading more stories set in the small town of Kincaid, Kentucky.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of the book that was provided to me. All opinions are my own.
