Forged in Peril

About the Book:

She can’t keep running…

Ambitious paralegal Bristol Chaplin knows that achieving her dream of becoming a lawyer won’t be easy, but there’s a price that even she isn’t willing to pay. When a dark secret threatens to destroy her career, she’s forced to seek help from the man she thought she’d left behind forever.

Private security operative Cameron Forge is content to spend his life serving God and protecting the innocent. But as the woman who broke his heart brings danger straight to his doorstep, he realizes that keeping her safe might be his toughest mission yet.

With hidden threats lurking behind every shadow, they have no choice but to uncover the truth about who is hunting Bristol before it’s too late. Even if it means putting their lives–and hearts–on the line.

My Review:

Bristol Chaplin is returning home to San Antonio and has taken a job with

her former boyfriend’s security company out of necessity. Right from the beginning there is tension between Bristol and Cameron. Will they be able to put aside the past, work together, and look to a new future?

The author handled the issue of sexual assault with compassion and realistically portrayed the after effects of emotions that Bristol was experiencing. It took real courage for her to share and not let that event steal more of her life. I admired her tenacity and determination throughout the case.

Cameron is my favorite character because he never gave up on Bristol. He embodies the motto of his family’s security business, “Serve. Protect. Redeem.” He not only sees it as his duty to protect Bristol, but also his honor. I loved his protective and kind heart.

I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more stories in this action packed, faith-filled series. I received a complimentary copy of the book. A positive review was not required.
