About the Book:
An infant in need…
But she’s a package deal.
After the tragic loss of his best friends, rancher Drew Morgan willingly accepts guardianship of their six-month-old baby—until he learns big-city professor Sadie Ross has temporary custody as well. Opposites in every way, the pair now has eight weeks together on Drew’s ranch to decide who will become the permanent parent. Could this makeshift family turn into something real…before the deadline is up?
My Review:
Drew Morgan and Sadie Ross are unexpectedly brought together when their best friends are killed in an accident leaving a 6 month old baby to be raised by one of them. Drew lives on and operates a large ranch while Sadie is a professor living in the city. Each comes to love baby Mae and it won’t be an easy choice for either of them to relinquish their guardianship.
I liked the opposites attract story and how Drew and Sadie are described as peanut butter and jelly. Drew is easy going and is more flexible since every day on the ranch brings something new. Sadie likes to have a schedule, reads self-help books so she can be prepared, and doesn’t like surprises. Watching them appreciate the strength of the other person and grow to care for one another was what I loved about the book.
The supporting characters of Gramps and Bess were a great addition to the story. Their wisdom and frankness helped both Drew and Sadie when they needed a little push. I enjoyed this story and would recommend it to readers of all ages. I'm looking forward to reading more in the series.
I was given a copy of the book. A positive review was not required and all opinions are my own.
